Call or email us and talk to us about the project you have in mind. We'll be able to discuss pricing and packaging, and get you started on the right foot. A few minutes on this stage can save hours and days later on, as well as giving you the best value for your investment. If you have a deadline, let us know at the start. Allow at least three weeks for production run discs, and 3-5 days for short-run orders. Rush fees may be applied if you need things turned around faster.

WE STRONGLY ADVISE: Do NOT schedule your CD release party until you have CDs in your hand! Errors in design or audio can introduce delays - don't paint yourself into a corner.

GET A TEMPLATE, OR TALK TO OUR DESIGNER

If you're having the project designed by your own designer, they can get the proper template and begin work. Make sure they review the Artwork Requirements, Design Tips and Disc Design information. Since the layout will be decided in Step 1 above, they'll know how to design to stay within your budget. If you're having us do the graphic design, we can start to talk about what content or images you will be supplying (photos, bio, track lists, etc.)

TAKE CARE OF YOUR ROYALTIES

If your audio includes copyrighted material, and you're doing more than 200 units, you'll need to apply for mechanical licensing. You'll also need to fill out an Intellectual Property Rights form, which indicates if you are the copyright holder for the material on your project. If some or all of the material is not yours, proof of licensing (royalties) or permissions must be provided. See Royalties, Permission and Licensing for more information.

We don't need to wait until the actual confirmation of licensing has returned to you (which can take up to 6 weeks), we just need proof that you've applied (photocopies of your paperwork and payment are sufficient).

SUBMIT YOUR ART FILES AND AUDIO - CHECK THEM CAREFULLY!

Once your design is ready (completely 100% press-ready, SPELL-CHECKED, final version!) you can submit the project, and we'll pre-press the files and see if there are any problems that will need to be fixed. Please take five minutes and make sure that your files are correct, complete, and ready to print. Experience has shown us that there are almost always some problem, so please don't leave this until the last minute. Your audio or data master disc can also be submitted at this time.

PROOF SIGN-OFF

Once your design files have been pre-pressed, and any problems corrected, we will provide you with a PDF proof or laser-print proof, for your approval. This is a chance for you to catch any typos or errors before the project is sent off to print. Sign off is final. See Terms and Conditions

A DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED

Before production of your project will begin, we will require a deposit of 50%. Payment of the balance is due upon delivery or pickup of the order. Projects will not be shipped out until full payment is made. If you require special payment options, please contact us.

PRODUCTION COMMENCES

Once all files are submitted, a master is supplied, all necessary royalties are taken care of, a proof has been approved, and a deposit has been paid, we will begin manufacture of your project. The time required will depend on many variables, such number of units, unit type, packaging, etc. Normally, short-run discs take 2-5 business days, production-run discs take 13-15 business days.

PICK UP YOUR PROJECT

When your project is ready, we'll give you a call, and you can pick them up at our North Vancouver location, or we can have them shipped anywhere you need. Payment of any outstanding balance is required at this time. Thanks for working with SPIN!
